Lawful development certificate drawings for Hounslow, £539

Hounslow uses one checklist for proposed and existing certificates, and it has two traps: a location plan may not come from Land Registry, and a CIL form must go in with the application. We draw to the list.

  • £389 drawings + £150 survey (£539 total)
  • One checklist, both types
  • CIL form handled

What Hounslow’s certificate checklist asks for

Hounslow’s checklist covers proposed and existing certificates together. The national items are the application form, location plan, block plan, and existing and proposed elevations, floor plans and sections, with roof plans only if the roof alters. Its local items for validation are a CIL form, evidence and optional photographs (Hounslow checklist).

Drawings are at 1:50 or 1:100, the block plan at 1:500. For example, a proposed rear outbuilding would be drawn on a block plan showing its distance to each boundary, while a decade-old extension would add the evidence row.

Evidence, location plans and CIL in Hounslow

For an existing-use application the evidence row asks for copies of relevant bills, tenancy agreements, sworn affidavits and similar. The checklist adds that the location plan must not be sourced from Land Registry or from Hounslow itself, so it comes from a licensed mapping supplier.

The CIL form lets the council work out whether a charge applies from the floor areas you give. The Mayor’s levy is owed only where a scheme is liable at all.

Article 4, extension rules and timing

Hounslow’s Article 4(2) directions cover Bedford Park and Gunnersbury Park conservation areas, and its page also lists a borough-wide direction on houses becoming small HMOs (Hounslow Article 4). A proposed certificate cannot confirm what a direction has removed.

Where an extension stays within permitted development, the council’s Residential Extension Guidelines still set the depths it expects on a planning application (Hounslow guidelines). Hounslow decided 380 of 391 householder applications inside 8 weeks in the year to June 2026; certificates are separate and we cannot promise a date.

Hounslow certificate questions

Does Hounslow use the same list for proposed and existing certificates?

Yes. One checklist covers both, with evidence added for existing-use cases.

Can I use a Land Registry plan?

No. Hounslow’s checklist says the location plan must not be sourced from Land Registry or the council.

Do I need a CIL form for a small job?

Hounslow lists the form as a local requirement, so it goes in. Most householder schemes then owe nothing.

How fast does Hounslow decide?

It decided 380 of 391 householder cases within 8 weeks last year. We cannot promise a date for a certificate.
